So, I’m a Horrible Blogger

Okay, let’s do this again. This time, I promise that I’ll post more often!

Since the last post, I have finished the first (and second) draft of my novel. I’m working on a third draft right now, which will put it pretty close to ready for submissions. I think that it turned out great and I’m very excited about it and have high hopes for it getting published. I will be spending the rest of the year getting it ready, and then next year I’m going to start sending it around to agents.

As far as my life goes: I lost my job, so I’m scraping by on odd jobs right now. This gives me much more time to write, which is great for me. I am looking for ways to keep paying my bills while writing at the pace I currently am.

I also met an amazing girl who pushes me as a writer and is extremely supportive.

My current goals:

Make a blog post every day. About something. Will probably be talking about what I think about a movie, book, or game that I’ve recently experienced, with updates on my life and my writing.

Finish the third draft of Rockwatch by Saturday – This is going to be tough, but I’m going to push myself to get it done.

And to close this, here is the best dog in the world:

My Ellie-Bear enjoying the sun.

Obligatory First Blog Post

So, nearly every author I respect has a blog, and some even update regularly. As an aspiring author, I am told that a web presence will help. So, here I am, giving it a shot.

I’m 28 years old. I’ve been writing regularly since I was old enough to hold a pencil. I remember writing a short story on wide rules paper about a killer dog that lived across the street from my house. It was shortly after seeing Jurassic Park, when I was 9, and there was lots of limbs being torn off and it ended with the main character waking up while his friend sprayed ketchup in his face.

I like to think that my storytelling abilities have improved since then.

On this page, expect regular updates about my writing, and my journey to become a published novelist. Expect stories of my daily life. Expect lots of pictures of my dog Ellie, and my turtle Takka.

I will do my best to not be too boring.
